Hey guys in this weeks post, my wife went out and bought a water softener!!! Blew me away, this thing was pricey too. COst me about 1500 dollars out the door. Then I had to have the dammed thing installed which was another 400 bucks. All in all it was not a very good experience.
So Im like ok at least were going to get rid of the houses lime scale problem, I can live with this. But then I was brushing my teeth, and I got this blast of salt water into my mouth, like literally 10x as strong as sea water. Well this was a huge turn off. I was done, I wanted to try a different water softener system.
So what I did was take a look at what was available out there for softeners. So there are softeners like the scalewatcher product which i thought looked great, but almost to good to be true. There was also the citrus softener the NUVO, which was also pretty interesting.
SO I figure I am going to try them both out. Im mostly just excited to get rid of this monstrosity I have down in my basement. My thoughts, stay away from salt based water softeners. They are a joke.
